If you’re looking for a different way to spend Valentine’s Day, we’ve got just the thing for you! The Gozo Ministry has just launched a bangin' programme of events called Inħobbok (I love you) for the week of Valentine’s. Here are our favourites!

1. Jammin’ from the Heart

On 2nd February, go on a musical journey for a good cause at Villa Rundle Gardens in Victoria. A series of drum workshops and jammin’ sessions are being organised in aid of projects in both Kenya and Ethiopia. Such a sweet idea!

2. Drive-In Movie Night

Popcorn please! Happening on 9th February, the drive-in movie theatre will be held at Leli Farrugia Football Ground to watch classic romantic movies. Fall in love all over again while watching the timeless Lady & the Tramp and Moulin Rouge.

3. Retro Cinema

Taking it back! On 16th February, the Aurora Opera House will be opening its doors... as a cinema! Valentine’s Day will see the return of the retro cinema with the screening of Saturday Night Fever featuring John Travolta and Karen Gorney. What a movie!

4. Għawdex Inħobbok Concert

Happening on 16th February, this concert will feature a series of live acts, artists and DJs for a spectacular night in the heart of Victoria. Ivan Grech (former Winter Moods frontman) is set to headline the event, backed by Pocci, Micimago and Benny Gee. You’ll want to pencil this one in!

5. Love from a Woman’s Eye

Taking place throughout the month of February, Love from a Woman’s Eye is a collective art exhibition by Rosita Kvas, Emma Borg and Abi Macleod Clark that brings out the way women perceive, receive and transmit love.

6. Mother & Daughter… Heart & Soul

Ceramics meets Mosaic in this event taking place at the Cittadella Cultural Centre in February. Katrin Formosa, a ceramist with 30 years’ experience and her daughter, Lisa, a mosaic artist with 15 years’ experience under her belt come together using these materials to create distinctive art pieces.

7. Love is Love

On Saturday 9th February, LGBTI+ Gozo will be holding an open day including talks about celebrating equal love. Stands will provide information about the organisation’s work and other events including a bake sale, because everyone loves their sweet treats!

8. Artisan Fair

Don’t miss out on the fantastic artisan fair happening on 9th and 10th February at Villa Rundle Gardens. Enjoy a variety of genuine handmade goods produced by local artisans, featuring an assortment of crafts that will make great gifts for your loved ones!

9. Street Art

The Gozo Visual and Performing Arts School will be taking part in a Street Art Trail on 9th and 16th February. Students will showcase their works in painting, wood and stone sculpture, pyrography and papier-mâché. Marvel at these magnificent handmade products.

10. Valentine’s Sweet Bakes

They had me at ‘sweet.’ Head on over to Fontana’s Church Parvis on 10th February to enjoy a variety of local pastries and chocolates that are the perfect gift for your Valentine!

11. Baked with Love

More sweets! Yay! On 16th and 17th February, treat yourself to some delicacies served on the most popular sidewalk in Republic Street, Victoria. Surprise your loved ones with a freshly baked cake or muffin by the Aurora Youth Movement.
