This new pitch will be home to Malta's National Football team.

The Planning Authority has just approved the development permit for a National Football centre in Ta' Qali.

This afternoon, the Malta Football Association took to their Facebook page to announce the good news.

This project will include constructing a set of facilities that will eventually be home to Malta's National Football Teams, starting from early ages all the way up to the elite team.

The facilities will feature the latest in sports science research labs, medical facilities, physiotherapy clinic, gymnasium, dressing rooms, catering facilities, multi-function meeting, and lecture rooms, a relaxation room, and technical offices.

And the best part? The centre has been designed with environmental protection and sustainability in mind.

The facilities will also serve as the base for the Inħobb il-Futbol Foundation, tasked with implementing a performance strategy, increasing participation levels, protecting player welfare, and enhancing the social mission through football.
