Blast from the past! Here’s what the Valletta bus terminus looked like in the 1970s
Back then drivers used to customize their buses.

Newly re-surfaced footage shows the Valletta bus terminus like very few of us remember it…

The video that you can view here, has been making the rounds on Facebook shows this iconic landmark as busy as ever during the 1970s. Clips towards the beginning of the video, shot from somewhere up high, present the capital city in all of its glory, with the Floriana church visible in the background.

Buses can also be seen driving round the Triton Fountain as they prepare to embark on their journeys. Colourful horse-pulled carriages serve as further proof that the footage was indeed shot in the 70s.

The buses can also be seen sporting an array of different colours, such as mint, white, and red, thus indicating the different routes they service.

It was also very common at the time for Maltese bus driver to embellish and customise their buses.

Things sure have changed in the past 50 years!
